Grandmaster George Alexander Maughan has been inducted into the World Head Of Family Sokeship Council. U.S.A. for International Grandmaster of the year. Grandmaster George Alexander Maughan is one of the premiere practitioners In American Advanced Kenpo Karate & Self-Defence in the world today and a Member of the illustrious World Head of Family Sokeship Council. He was Inducted into our 16th Annual International Martial Arts Hall of Fame held In San Antonio, Texas last year and also gave a seminar during our Gathering there. His seminar was one of the Highlights of the event where He demonstrated his speed, precision and Power in the art of Special Street Combat Survival Skills & Kenpo. As a highly respected member of the WHFSC, Grandmaster Maughan is also featured in the book "The World Head of Family Sokeship Council" which was produced in January 2009 by Rising Sun Productions of California. The book documents the founding of America's First world-wide Grandmasters council, the WHFSC and Grandmaster Maughan As one of its Original members. Grandmaster Frank E. Sanchez Founder/ Executive Director International Jackie Chan and the late Ed Parker who was Elvis Presley Teacher & body Guard is also featured in the book.

George Alexander Maughan is both a charismatic character and a Kenpo Karate lumirary. With his striking resemblance to Chuck Norris and easy Irish lilt, his seminars are not just educational, they are events in their own right. Behind the laid-back exterior, however is a hard task-master, dedicated to the realistic applications of his beloved art. One of the very few who have completed the American Kenpo syllabus, George has a computer sharp mind, instantly accessing the defence for any attack with a fluid speed that is joy to watch. The biggest advantage of the format is the instant accessibility, an essential function with a complex grading syllabus, as presented here. Long-term readers well be aware of the fact that Maughan' s system is found on the 'clock' method, and the footwork that underpins the Universal Golden Eagle' Kenpo system is the first chapter of this DVD. Maughan himself is the amiable host, talking and demonstrating, and if there is a fault, it is the complex numbering and lettering that defines the technique, to a point that saying the full title of the technique has Maughan more out of breath than actually demonstrating it. These two sections alone well give the viewer plenty of food for thought, but also included are 2 forms a 'long form' and a Sai form, both shown in their entirety first and then deconstructed in great detail, accompanied by a flowing commentary from Master Maughan. For students of New Modern Day Kenpo Karate this DVD is obviously an essential purchase, but the disc well also have a wider appeal, one that encompasses the street self defence arena and the array of techniques and formidable running time (90mins) well provide real value for money.
