The Principal Concept & Philosophy behind the G.E.K.

ugek

The clock method, angles and degrees play a big part in the G.E.K. syllabus & thinking. Used to prevent, an attack happening to you, or to intercept an assailant or assailants, using the angles on the clock to manipulate your opponent or opponents

Example:

I would like you, to imagine that you are standing in the centre of the clock,

The centre of the clock becomes your base.

Walking down the street, sitting in a car,

Coming home from college or lying down on a beach.

You have 12.o’ clock in front of you, and 6.o’clock behind you.

3.o’ clock on your right, and 9.o’ clock on your left,

Using the numbers on the clock, as reference points, to search your surroundings in your environment to prevent, an attack happening to you, or to intercept an assailant or assailants,

In conjunction with your peripheral vision which is no more than 180 degrees say from 3.o’ clock right around to 9.o’ clock, searching on a horizontal, vertical, and diagonal plain.

You may ask yourself how will this help you, in your environment.

The person who is armed with this knowledge has a greater chance of surviving in their environment than the person who has no knowledge,

Master George Alexander Maughan

Appeared on national television and Martial Arts Today in the U.S.A. teaching excerpts from his new instructional videos

Weapons specialist and Ranger instructor in the armed forces. This is where I started to make my own innovations to modify the Kenpo system. As I was teaching unarmed combat every day it was the ideal place to modify & create my own system. Which is now the G.E.K and expand my knowledge in other disciplines.

I worked in conjunction with the C.I.A. and F.B.I. to secure Ronald Reagan former president of the U.S.A. when visiting Ireland in June 1984.

I set up security for Michael Jackson and Prince to name but a few.

Appeared in numerous international News papers and Martial arts magazines

Recipient of the1996 South Dublin Civic Award in the Youth Category.

Combat Magazine Hall of fame Award 1999.   The 25th. Combat Awards were held in the Aston Villa Hoite Suite in the Aston Villa grounds in Birmingham on the 23rd. October 1999.  Master Maughan became the first Master in the world to receive the Combat Magazine Hall of Fame award in Kenpo Karate.

How to prevent an attack happening to you.

By taking into account a few precautionary measures you could prevent an attack happening to you.

For example

Walking home at night alone don’t. Organise a lift home.

If for some reason you have to walk home let someone know the route you are taking and take into account your surroundings in your environment.

Why make it easy for a guy or guys patrolling the streets in a car on foot looking for a potential victim to mug, rape or kill.

Be confident, how does one achieve self-confidence.

It comes with knowledge, knowing specific information on your subject in the Martial Arts or life its self. That you can control or react to a situation at any giving time.
